CAN EVERYONE BENEFIT FROM HIGHER EDUCATION?

Nowadays, higher education is putting many countries in pressure due to do not wanting students to pay all the fine of university degrees. They are trying to decide if the access for the people that want to enter to university education should be restricted or open, giving costs involved. Higher education would be in danger of losing students due to the cost, citizens would have to pay more taxes and we should look at keeping university education open to clever students from poor backgrounds.

First of all, if students had had to pay all the cost of the matriculation, they couldn't have dealt with all the money spent there; so they may withdraw their courses, and the universities will lose a lot of students. That is why, many people cannot afford a higher education due to their low salaries; however, they had the same right to get a degree that a richer person. For this reason, if universities want to still having a lot of students, they have to continue paying part of their studies.

Secondly, every person in Spain pay taxes each year, depending on their salaries. It is a fact that everyone give money to the State for the sanity, education, polices... For this reason, the State should not made citizens pay the total amount of money of the university degree. This would mean that we have to pay more money to the State and it sounds really unfair; if we keep paying them such amount of taxes, we will not be able of pay other basic needs.

Finally, those who role higher education have to keep in mind these intelligent students whose parents receive a low income. For this reason, universities will only have people that could pay for study. There are many clever students that really want to continue with their academic process that will not be able of doing it if they do not receive some help from the State. There are many parents with low incomes that suffer a lot to give their children studies and basic needs so, if the State will not help, it would be against human rights.

In conclusion, due to all the factors and problems that this would supposed, the State should keep paying the students the university degree, or at least, part of it. If they will not do it, many consequences will appear and we do not want a future without qualify workers.
